About
Radio Dork Club was officially founded
in the year of 2025, though its roots stretch back nearly a
decade. It is a group of individuals that share interests
in many different aspects of radio such as SDR, antenna design and
building, QRP, SOTA, contesting, and emergency preparedness.
Constitution
Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be "Radio Dork Club," hereinafter referred to as the "Club."
Article II: Purpose
The purpose of the Club shall be:
* To promote
amateur radio operations, experimentation, and contesting.
* To
encourage the advancement of the art and science of radio
communication.
* To foster camaraderie among amateur radio operators.
Article III: Membership All individuals holding a valid amateur radio
operator license issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
are eligible for membership.
Article IV: Officers
The officers of the Club shall be:
* President
*
Vice President
* Secretary
* Treasurer
* Communications Officer
Officers, with the exception of the President and Vice President, may
hold more than one office.
Article V: Amendments
This Constitution may be amended by a
three-fourths (3/4) vote of the officers and a majority vote of the
members present at a duly constituted meeting.
Bylaws
Article I: Officers and Duties
* Section 1. President: The President shall preside at all meetings,
enforce the Constitution and Bylaws, and oversee the general operation
of the Club.
* Section 2. Vice President: The Vice President shall assume the duties
of the President in their absence and assist the President as needed.
* Section 3. Secretary: The Secretary shall keep accurate minutes of
all meetings, maintain membership records, and handle Club
correspondence.
* Section 4. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall manage the Club's finances,
maintain accurate financial records, and provide financial reports at
meetings.
* Section 5. Communications Officer: The Communications Officer shall
be responsible for maintaining club communications, and coordinating
club participation in contests, field day, and antenna experimentation.
* Section 6. Election: Officers shall be elected annually by a majority
vote of the members present at the annual meeting. In the event of a
tie, a coin flip shall decide the election.
* Section 7. Term: Officers shall serve a term of one (1) year.
Article II: Meetings
* Section 1. Frequency: Regular meetings shall be held quarterly, every three (3) months.
* Section 2. Agenda: Meetings shall be conducted with informal agendas.
* Section 3. Quorum: A quorum for conducting business shall consist of a majority of the officers.
Article III: Financial Management
* Section 1. Responsibility: The Treasurer shall be responsible for managing the Club's finances.
* Section 2. Expense Approval: Any expenses incurred by the Club must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the officers.
* Section 3. Dues: At this time, there are no membership dues. The club reserves the right to amend this, as needed.
Article IV: Equipment and Station
* Section 1. Individual Ownership: Equipment provided for Club use by individual members remains the property of those members.
* Section 2. Club Ownership: Equipment specifically donated to the Club becomes the property of the Club.
Article V: Amendments
These Bylaws may be amended by a three-fourths (3/4) vote of the
officers and a majority vote of the members present at a duly
constituted meeting.
